Mission Statement

Root & Rise Counseling empowers children, teens, and families to grow with confidence, connection, and compassion. Through neurodiversity-affirming care, parent-child therapy, and perinatal mental health support, we help families deepen their roots and rise together. Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive space where every individual—especially the youngest among us—feels seen, supported, and strengthened on their journey toward mental wellness.

Vision Statement

We envision a world where families feel rooted, parents feel supported, and every child’s unique mind is celebrated. Root & Rise Counseling is dedicated to cultivating resilient families by nurturing healthy relationships, honoring neurodiversity, and walking alongside families as they anchor their roots to grow stronger—together.

    Owner, Psychotherapist

Becoming a parent is something that comes naturally but sometimes we have moments, or periods of transitions with our kids and we might not be sure how to navigate it. That’s where I come in. As a parent, working mom and therapist, I understand the mental load that goes into raising children. I work with children ages 3 years old to 18 years old and work with adults to help. I have a unique lens as a therapist, having spent over 20 years in the business and tech worlds before deciding to shift careers and pursue my passion of helping others.

As a therapist, and as a human, supporting people is at the heart of everything I do. I am particularly dedicated to working with children and parents to improve communication and manage complex mental health situations. I focus on human connection and understanding the entire family, or social system, in order to help. I have experience navigating IEP and 504 Accomodation Plans in school and can assist if this is something your family is navigating.

I put a neurodiversity affirming lens on my work and my niche is helping families navigate diagnoses like ADHD and how it can impact all aspects of family life, especially with comorbid diagnoses like Anxiety and Depression. If your child or teen is showing signs that they might need help, or you could use someone to talk to, please reach out.

I take a very individualized and person-centered approach to my work as a clinician, using various techniques and modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Parent Management Training (PMT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Integrative Parent Coaching, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Mindfulness and Expressive Therapies (for younger kids). I take a very Attachment-Based or Family Systems approach to working with parents and their children.

My vision is to help create a world where families thrive, parents feel supported, and every child’s unique mind is celebrated. Root & Rise Counseling is dedicated to cultivating resilient communities by nurturing healthy relationships, honoring neurodiversity, and walking alongside families as they grow stronger—together.
